15 livestock charred to death in Bandipora
Bandipora, Feb 18: Fifteen livestock which includes ten sheep and five goats were charred to death in a fire incident in north Kashmir’s Bandipora, officials said.
According to eyewitnesses, a huge fire broke out in a barn of farmer namely, Bashir Ahmad Choppan in Chopan Mohalla of Pazalpora village.
The fire destroyed the barn, where Chopan kept the livestock and also a storage unit meant for stocking feed and hay turned into ashes.
“Fifteen livestock, which included sheep, goats, lambs and kids were charred to death in the fire," Parvez Ahamd, a local and an eyewitness said.
He said the fire destroyed barn and the storage, almost reducing the grass and feed of the live stock to ashes.
The fire has been brought under control while as officials have been deputed to analyse the damage.
