14th India-Bhutan border management, security meeting held in Thimphu
Thimphu, Oct 23: The 14th India-Bhutan Meeting on Border Management and Security was held in Thimphu from October 16–17, 2025.
The Indian delegation was led by Rajendra Kumar, Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs, while the Bhutanese side was headed by Sonam Wangyel, Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.
Officials from the Sashastra Seema Bal, Land Ports Authority of India, Customs, and several northeastern states participated. Discussions focused on bilateral security cooperation, border management, mobile signal spillover, Integrated Check Posts, boundary pillar maintenance, and capacity building for Bhutan’s police. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the constructive dialogue and reaffirmed their commitment to a safe, secure, and prosperous border region.
