127th annual Baba Nagri Urs commences in central Kashmir's Ganderbal
Kangan, June 7: The 127th annual Urs of Mian Nizamuddin Kiyani (RA) commenced on Friday at Baba Nagri, Wangath in the Kangan area of Ganderbal district.
The two-day annual Urs is observed in the first fortnight of June every year with thousands of devotees from and outside Jammu and Kashmir thronging the event.
Hundreds of vehicles carrying pilgrims from Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Jammu, Udhampur, Bandipora, and Anantnag have reached Baba Nagri to participate in the annual Urs.
The two-day Urs commenced on Friday and night-long prayers were held.
Special prayers will be offered on the concluding day of the Urs on Saturday.
Sajada Nasheen Darbar Baba Ji Sahab Larvi, Mian Altaf Ahmad and various Islamic scholars and religious personalities will throw light on Islam and the life and teachings of Baba Nizamuddin Kiyani (RA).
The management of the shrine has made arrangements for food and accommodation for the devotees while the local civil and Police administration has also made necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Urs.
