10 medical facilities sealed in Handwara for lack of registration
Kupwara, Feb 17: At least ten medical facilities were sealed by authorities in north Kashmir’s Handwara over lack of appropriate registration.
The setups were sealed by Tehsildar Handwara after complaints were registered by people regarding the same.
Speaking to reporters, Zeeshan Ahmad Khan, Tehsildar Handwara, said that the action was taken after complaints were received from people over the last several days.
“A surprise check alongside a medical team was conducted during which at least 10 medical setups including pharmaceutical shops, clinics and labs were found running without proper registration and under unhygienic conditions following which they were sealed on the spot,” Tehsildar said.
Khan said that such inspections would continue in future with an aim to ensure better medical facilities to people.
The people have hailed the efforts of the administration. They demanded that such inspections should be a permanent feature so that a check is maintained.
