1-week awareness programme against raging commences at IUST
Awantipora, Aug 12: To provide a safe and raging free learning experience to students, IUST is organising a series of programmes aimed at spreading awareness against raging. The programmes are being organised jointly by Proctorial Wing and Dean of Students and shall feature Nukads, painting competitions, lectures, taking pledge against raging.
The inaugural session was chaired by Prof A. H. Moon, Dean Academic Affairs and attended by police officers. Prof Moon said that at IUST a robust mechanism against raging is in place and raging under no pretext is allowed.
He said that IUST has constituted an anti-ragging committee that has representatives from civil society, police, administration, and the student community. He said that as the admission process has commenced the induction programme for the students shall have specific sessions informing students about anti-ragging measures and grievance redressal mechanisms available at IUST.
The programme was attended by Senior Proctor IUST, Dr Shiekh Jameel, Dr Asifa Baba, Dean of Students, Deans of Schools, HoDs and students and faculty.
