1 killed in family dispute in Reasi

Jammu, May 11: A Village Defence Guard (VDG) Saturday allegedly killed his son-in-law, in a fit of rage over some family dispute in Kembal Danga village of Reasi district.

“We received information that a VDG, identified as Daulat Ram, allegedly opened fire with his rifle on his son-in-law, identified as Amit Singh, an army soldier, who was having a matrimonial dispute with his wife. Injured man was immediately rushed to hospital yet he succumbed to his critical injuries on the way to Jammu hospital, where he was referred to, given his critical condition. His wife, allegedly assaulted by her husband, was also injured and admitted in the hospital,” police said.

Police, after filing a case, arrested the VDG. Investigation was underway, police added.
