1 killed, another injured in Reasi mishap

Ramban, Nov 24: A railway construction worker was killed and another injured after a landslide occurred near an Anji cable-stayed bridge of USBRL project in Rootkot area of Reasi district on Sunday.

Police sources said in a landslide incident at least two workers engaged by a railway construction company sustained critical injuries. Both were immediately shifted by the workers and locals to District Hospital Reasi however later one critically wounded worker succumbed to injuries at District Hospital Reasi.

Police identified the deceased worker as Angreez Singh, (48), son of Krishan Singh resident of Gran Morh, tehsil and district Reasi.

They identified the injured as Reyaz Ahmed, 45 son of Basheer Ahmed resident of Neoj, Mahore, Reasi was responding to the treatment at District Hospital.

Senior Superintendent of Police, (SSP), Reasi, Paramveer Singh confirmed the incident and said one labourer was killed after a landslide hit at Anji Bridge Reasi while he was working in a railway construction company.
