1 killed, 9 injured in Gandoh, Reasi accidents

Ramban, May 30 : One person was killed and nine others injured in two separate road accidents at Gandoh in Udhampur district and Rud Pul in Reasi district.

A 16 years old boy died on spot whereas another sustained critical injuries after a tractor trolley in which they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Gill area Gandoh in Doda district on Thursday.

Police sources said tractor trolley rolled down into a gorge on a link road in Gill area of Gundoh. They said on getting information a police team of Police Station Gandoh reached the spot and recovered a body. The injured person was shifted to nearby hospital.

Police identified the deceased as Aqib Hussain, 16, son of Jaffar Hussain resident of Gawas, Kahara, Gandoh. The injured identified as Irshad Ahme, 22 son of Suleman Gujjar resident of Sinoo Gandoh. SHO Police Station Gandoh Inspector Parvaiz Khanday confirmed the incident and said one person died on spot whereas another sustained critical injuries. He said a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Gandoh.

Eight persons were injured in an accident near Rud Pul area of Reasi district. The accident, officials said, took place when a tempo traveler and a car collided head on at Reasi Narloo road. Six passengers were injured who were taken to district hospital Reasi.

Injured are identified as Vidhya Devi (36) wife of Joginder Singh resident of Thuroo Pattian, Shakuntla Devi (55) wife of Romal Singh resident Thuroo Pattian, Zenav Begum (35) wife of Mohammad Usman resident of Budhan, Raj Singh (35) son of Suram Chand resident of Pattian, Abdul Gani (45) son of Abdul Rashid resident of Budhan, Mohd Usman (2) son of Abdul Gani resident of Budhan, Anita Devi (30) wife of Raj Singh resident of Pattian and Aliya (8) daughter of Bashir resident of Thuroo.
