Ramban, Nov 20: In two separate road accidents a young bike rider was killed whereas two others sustained injuries at Banihal and Ramsu on Wednesday.

Police said a bike rider was killed after his bike rammed into a oil tanker coming from the opposite direction on the old alignment of Srinagar- Jammu National Highway.

Police sources said JK02CH-9527 collided with a bike bearing registration number PB08DJ-3103 coming from opposite direction at Char Chinar area of Chareel, Banihal on Highway. The biker sustained critical injuries and he was rushed to Sub District Hospital Banihal . He was referred to some Srinagar based Hospital but he succumbed.

Police identified the deceased as Shoaib Ahmad Tantray,( 20), son of Mohammad Ashraf Tantray resident of Krawa Banihal. They said the driver involved in the accident was detained.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Banihal. Earlier on Tuesday night a truck bearing registration number JK03F- 5444 on to Jammu collided with a vegetables laden truck (TaTa 407) bearing registration number JK02CX-3351coming from opposite and pushed vegetable laden truck into Bisleri Nullah.

On getting information Army (23RR), stationed in the area rushed to the spot and shifted two injured to Armys Medical Aid, (MI), room Nachlana where after providing medical aid both injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Banihal.

Police identified the injured as Javaid Ahmad Dar son of Farooq Ahmad resident of Khanabal, Anantnag, and Salman Khan, son of Rafiq Ahmad resident of Jandiyal.

Police has registered a case FIR,number 127 of 2024 under section 281,125,(A), BNS, at Police Station Ramsu.
