1 injured in accidental fire in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 6: One person sustained injuries when the rifle of a security guard at a jeweller’s shop at Gandhinagar Jammu went off accidentally on Wednesday.

A police spokesperson said, “A case of accidental fire was reported from Gandhi Nagar wherein one person sustained injury. Preliminary investigation revealed that this case of fire from weapon of a security guard identified as Surjeet Singh, son of Prem Singh, resident of Kalakot Rajouri, working at Jagdambey Jewellers Gandhi Nagar, was purely accidental in which, one person namely, Prof Bharti Raja, 45, resident of Tamil Nadu, serving at Jammu University, sustained injuries in his arm.”
