Ramban, Nov 13: One person died and 14 others were injured in two separate road accidents in Ramban and Reasi districts

Police said one person died on the spot and two others sustained injuries after a rashly driven truck collided with a parked truck near Banihal bypass on National Highway 44 in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Police said a truck driver was killed in a road accident near the Banihal on Wednesday.

They said a rashly driven truck bearing registration number (JK20C-4407) was on its way to Srinagar went out of control and collided with a parked truck,(canter), bearing registration number PB10HM-3554.

Police said the body of the deceased was shifted to Sub District Hospital Banihal, where after conducting a postmortem and other legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs.

Police identified the two injured as Ranjeet Singh, 26, son of Bansi Lal, resident of Maitra Ramban and Sunil Kumar, 28, son of Bajra Chand, resident of Seri Tehsil of District Ramban. They said both were admitted to Sub District Hospital Banihal for treatment.

In this connection, the Police have registered a case FIR, number 174 of 2024, under section 281/125(a)/106 BNS at Police Station Banihal for further investigations. In another accident, at least 12 Mata Vashnav Devi pilgrims sustained injuries after a passenger bus collided with a Mini Bus coming from the opposite direction.

Police said a collision occurred between a bus carrying pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi and a Mini Bus, without passengers, near the Kala Morh area on the Reasi - Katra road.

They said a bus carrying pilgrims was heading to Shivkhori. On getting information, Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted 12 injured to District Hospital Reasi. Deputy Commissioner Reasi Mhajan personally monitored the rescue operation at the accident spot at Kela-Morh.
