1 dead, four injured in road accident on Jammu-Srinagar national highway

Ramban, Feb, 28: In a head on collision between two light vehicles a man died on spot whereas four others sustained injuries in Manthal Saloura area of Tikri on Srinagar Jammu National Highway on Friday.

Police sources said a light vehicle bearing registration number JK02BE-5333 on its way to Udhampur from Jammu driven in a wrong lane collided with car bearing registration number JK14E-4049 coming from opposite direction near Manthal, Saloura area of Tikri on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.

They said due to the impact of collusion a co-passenger travelling in car bearing registration number JK14E-4049 suffered critical injuries and died on spot.

Police identified the deceased as Girdhari Lal, son Dina Nath, resident Chadote Kund, Doda, and added the other four injured have been rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital Udhampur.

Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law for further investigations.
