1 dead, 3 injured in Doda accident

Ramban, Jan 27: One person died and three others were injured after a four-wheeler load carrier collided with a scooter.

After the collision, the vehicles rolled down into a gorge in the Bhadroon area of Doda on Saturday evening.

Police said that a vehicle (JK06A 9732) on its way to Padarna from Doda collided with a Scooty coming from the opposite direction on a link road in the Bhadroon area of Doda.

Due to the impact of the collision, both the vehicle and the Scooty plunged into a gorge.

They said one person died on the spot while three others including the Scooty rider sustained injuries.

On getting information, locals and Police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and the injured persons to Government Medical College and Associated Hospital Doda.

Police identified the deceased driver as Waseem Sajad, 25, son of the late Abdul Rehman of Roti Padarna in Doda.

The injured were identified as Talib Hussain and Aqib Hussain, both sons of Javed Iqbal of Nalwah, Doda and scooter rider Punjab Singh, son of Gandhi Singh of Kashod, Jodhpur, Doda.

After providing medical aid at Doda Hospital, the two critically injured were referred to Government Medical College and Associated Hospital Jammu for specialised treatment.
