1 dead, 1 injured in Doda accident

Ramban, Mar 26:  A government teacher died on the spot while his brother sustained injuries after their car plunged into a gorge at the Panchani Nullah area on the Khaleni-Marmat link road of Doda on Tuesday.

Official sources said a car JK06B-7767 was on its way to Khellani from Goha, Marmat.

It rolled into a 400-feet deep gorge, resulting death of one person on the spot and injuries to another person.

They said on getting information locals and a Police team from Police Post Khellani reached the spot. They retrieved both dead and injured and shifted them to Government Medical College Hospital.

Police identified the deceased teacher as Irshad Hussain, son of Abdul Rasheed of Mangote, Marmat, Doda.

Locals said the deceased was a government teacher while his injured brother Yasir Hussain was also a government teacher by profession.

The injured was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Doda.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters Doda, Ajay Anand confirmed the incident and said a government teacher died and his brother sustained injuries in this accident.
