Youth Activists of Rajouri today condemned the lathicharge on members of Gujjar-Bakerwal community who were protesting peacefully against forest eviction drive by forest department and Jammu Development Authority today and demanded immediate release of detained youth activists of Gujjar community who were detained by police today outside residence of Forest Minister of J&K. 

The youth activists belonging to all sections of society including members from Pahari and Hindu Community met Additional Commissioner Revenue, Abdul Qayoom Mir and through him submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister of J&K in which all incidents of violence perpetuated by anti-Gujjar lobby of Jammu and other miscreants across Jammu province against Gujjar community were raised.  

They claimed that  since 2014, Gujjar Bakerwal community is repeatedly targeted in Jammu province with no punishment given to Gunda elements.  

" It's an appeal to Chief Minister to give charge of forest ministry to some legislator who judiciously uses his powers. " they appealed. .
