Health department in Raojuri district has woken up to act against touts of private clinics and laboratories who lure gullible people to private healthcare facilities.  

Sources said, in last some months frequent complaints have been received by the department alleging that touts of some private clinics, nursing homes and laboratories “roam in different hospitals, especially district hospital Rajouri where they lure patients to get medical treatment from private centres despite the fact that lot of facilities are available in the government health institutions.” 

Now, finally the department has woken up and issued an advisory for its officials to check activity of these touts in government hospitals and to get stern action initiated against them.

"If any investigation report of any private clinic is found in any ward of hospital, the office of CMO shall  be informed so that stern action is initiated against the owner of private clinic " advisory issued from CMO office Rajouri says. The advisory directs all the doctors of Rajouri district to ensure implementation of Free Drugs policy of government and to prescribe the medicines available in hospitals.  

The locals meanwhile have demanded that the order should be implemented in letter and spirit and it should be ensured that touts present in government hospitals are taken to task.
