Asserting that government is adopting “aggressive approach” towards the resistance leadership, the Hurriyat Conference ((M) today strongly condemned the continuous house detention of its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

“The state administration has imposed curbs on the social, political and religious activities of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq which is highly condemnable. The continuous house detention of Mirwaiz has belied all the democratic claims of the state. It (state) has imposed blanket ban on the freedom of expression in Kashmir. Such draconian measures will in no way weaken the resolve and commitment of the resistance leadership,” a spokesman of the Hurriyat, in a statement today, said.

The amalgam has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of the mother of convener APHC Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) chapter Faiz Naqashbandi. It has extended its condolences and sympathy with Naqashbandi and his bereaved family.
