Class 10th, 12th exams in first week of March: BOSE

The March session annual examination for class 10th and 12th would commence from first week of March, officials told Greater Kashmir on Thursday.

Talking to this newspaper, the Chairman BOSE Zahoor Ahmad Chatt said the 2016 annual examination for class 10th students, who opted for March session, would commence from March 4 while as exams for class 12 students would start from March 7 respectively.

“The date sheet for both the classes will be notified within two days after commencement of class10th and 12th private annual examinations,” the Chairman BOSE said.

It’s in place to mention here that JK government in 2016 had decided to hold two exams for the class 10th and 12th students. The students who appeared in November exams were provided 50 percent relaxation in their syllabus by the government. The students appearing in their exams in March have to attempt 100 per cent of the question paper.

The JKBOSE has already announced the results of class 10 and 12 examinations conducted in November 2016.

The Joint Secretary Examination in JKBOSE, Syed Abdul Rouf said, “Over 400 students from class 10th and above 1700 students from class 12th have opted for March session exams. We have not issued admit cards of the students appearing in March session exams as the department has already scheduled annual private exams from February 18,” Rouf said.

The officials however said BOSE would make the announcement of class 12th topper after the result of March session exams are declared. “We will consolidate both the results and declare the class 12th topper in all the streams,” Joint Secretary Examinations said.

He said the BOSE is yet to take a final decision for announcement of class 10th toppers. “Authorities have not taken any decision regarding the announcement of toppers in class 10 this year,” he said.

Pertinently, the JKBOSE this year announced the results of class 10th examination in grading system instead of announcing the marks obtained the students.
