3 teachers of Dardpora school suspended for poor Class 10 results

Authorities have suspended three teachers, including one ReT of government high school Dardpora Kupwara for poor performance of students in class 10 exams, the result of which was declared in last week by J&K Board of School Education (BOSE).

In Dardpora school, only one out of 44 students who appeared in the class 10th exams had qualified it following which the parents on Thursday staged demonstrations against the department and school teachers.

Director school education Kashmir, GN Itoo, confirmed the development and said two general line teachers and one rehbar-e-taleem (ReT) teachers have been placed under suspension for having below 20 percent results in their subjects.

“Besides, we have decided to stop increment of other two masters of the schools who have got below 50 percent results in their subjects,” Itoo said.

Director said the department has decided to start remedial classes fro the students in the school who have failed in their class 10th examination. “The classes will start from Monday so that the students who failed in exams can appear in the biannual private session,” he said.

Itoo said the department is ascertaining details of all other schools and similar action will follow against teachers who have produce poor results in the subjects they teach in their schools.
