More than 50 poets participated in grand Koshur mushaira held at Al-Ahad College in Anantnag on Tuesday, organizers said in a statement. 

They said galaxy of accomplished poets and budding writers from south Kashmir described the literary feast as the biggest event in the region, so far. Four critical papers on the literary achievements of Kashmiri stalwarts - Prof. Ghulam Muhammad Shad, Syed Rasul Pompur, Mohan Lal Aash and Amma War - were also presented by  Yusuf Jehangir, Ashraf Ravi, Ajaz Lalu and Dr. Gulzar Rather. A book by Dr. Gulzar Rather, a critical commentary on Sohni Mehwal mathnavi of Peer Miskeen was also released.

The event was organised by the Anjuman-e-Sher-o-Adab with support from the Department of Information. Izhar Mubashir gave a brief overview of the programme and the background of the Anjuman that has been working for over a decade for the promotion of the Kashmiri language.
