Experts from different fields on Tuesday deliberated on issues regarding climate change and its impact on food security, crops and high altitude lakes on day two of the three-day workshop on "Disaster Resilience of Kashmir in the Face of Climate Change” held at AAAM Degree College Bemina here. 

G. N. Qasba, former SMC commissioner spoke on “Post Flood September 2014.” Mahmood Ahmad Shah, director Tourism, emphasised on the importance of high altitudes lakes of J&K. He stressed on the conservation of these lakes. 

M.C. Varma of Bhagalpur University and Sharmila Sinha, a Delhi-based consultant deliberated on the topics “Deteriorating conditions of the water bodies of Kashmir” and “Building urban food security in times of climate change” respectively. Both the speakers emphasised for serious efforts to save environment and environmental resources.
