Students hold protest against ‘irregularity’ in CBCS

A massive protest was held at Jammu University against CBCS problems faced by Students of UG courses in 3rd semester admission.

The students of various colleges gathered at main gate of Jammu University  amid shouting of slogans against the Vice Chancellor and the current CBCS system. They alleged that  the VC of Jammu University was playing with the career of hundreds of students by implementing the system which deprives them of getting education. Later the protesting students torched the effigy of Vice Chancellor Jammu University.

The protest was led by Lucky Singh (President Student Union).

Addressing  the media persons, Lucky Singh allege Vice Chancellor of acting as dictator  in the University by implementing orders which are directly effecting the students community at large.

He also said that earlier there was a rule of the CBCS system under which  if the student passes any two subjects he/she was allowed to take admission in further class. But according to the latest order of the VC now it requires to pass two subjects from the compulsory subjects excluding the electives. He said that issuing such order after the result is announced clearly shows that ‘it is deliberate attempt by the Vice Chancellor to spoil the future of UG students.’

Lucky Singh demanded rollback of latest order and  continuation of   earlier system according  to which any student who clears any two subjects should be given admission into next                  semester.
